This pre-season West Ottawa Basketball Coaching Clinic is designed to help coaches sharpen their skills and learn some new drills, games, and concepts.
We will share insights on how to develop both physical skills and mental skills at an age appropriate level, including:
- Shooting fundamentals
- Ball handling
- Rebounding
- Offensive concepts such as spacing, cutting, and screening
- Defensive concepts and skills for playing on and off-ball
- Transition concepts
We will also share insights on how to connect and communicate effectively with players and parents.
PLUS, Dave Lee, West Ottawa Basketball's Chief Referee, will review key rules and answer your questions.
Mark Emond and Tarcisse Ruhamyandekwe will be leading the clinic. Mark is West Ottawa’s VP of Competitive, Coach and Player Development, the Head Coach of our Girls U16 AAA Team and was Head Coach of Ottawa’s Girls team at the Ontario Summer Games. Tarcisse is an Assistant Coach for the La Cite Collegiale Men’s Basketball team and the former Head Coach of Provincial Champion West Ottawa Hornets Boy’s U19 AAA team.
