The Goulbourn Hornets U19 girls headed to Waterloo, ON for the OBA Championships with a team of 8 players.....6 of which are U16, due to injuries during the season.
Facing off against 4 other teams in Division 7, the girls came together and captured a win in 4 of the 5 games played, losing only once to Naismith.
In the final, it would be Naismith that the team would meet again for the gold medal game. It was a nail-biter to say the least. Even down to the last couple of minutes it was anybody's win. The Hornets pulled together and won by 3 points. Cheers went up from their biggest fans (parents!) and the girls celebrated a well earned gold! It was a well fought game played against a worthy and class-act opponent, making for some entertaining basketball.
Congrats team!
