WEST OTTAWA STINGERS RECREATIONAL PROGRAM
The West Ottawa Basketball Association has a West Ottawa Stingers Recreational Program for boys and girls 5 to 18 years of age.
Our Recreational Program is intended to expose players in the community to the game of basketball and provide them with a positive atmosphere to develop as players and people. Our group of Coaches are dedicated to helping players improve their basketball fundamentals with an emphasis on FUN!
The Recreational season starts in October and runs until April. All divisions practice 1 evening per week, Monday to Friday. Divisions U10 to U19 will have games on Saturdays with the Year End Tournament held at the end of the basketball season. The West Ottawa Basketball Association runs the West Ottawa Basketball League for some divisions while other divisions participate in the Eastern Ontario Basketball Association. The leagues bring together area associations from across the city and outlying areas to have fun, develop sportsmanship and compete against each other in a safe and positive setting.
Players of all skill levels are welcome to register for our West Ottawa Basketball Stingers' teams! Practices and games are in school gyms in the Stittsville/Kanata area.

WEST OTTAWA HORNETS COMPETITIVE PROGRAM
The West Ottawa Hornets Competitive Program is for boys and girls 8 to 18 years of age.
Our Competitive Program is for players interested in an increased level of competitive basketball. The West Ottawa program, with its dedicated NCCP trained Coaches, helps develop the player’s basketball and athletic skills to allow them to compete at a higher level of basketball.
All West Ottawa Hornets teams compete against other competitive teams as a part of the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) and the Eastern Ontario Basketball Association (EOBA). Teams will practice in local gyms and have home and away games throughout the city. Teams will also travel throughout the season to compete in various tournaments.
All competitive team Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches are NCCP trained and certified, providing players will knowledgeable and qualified coaches.
Players of all experience and skill levels are encouraged to try out for our West Ottawa Hornets teams. Our Competitive Program provides an excellent opportunity for players to develop their basketball skills through competitive-level practices, teamwork and competition.
Players who are registered in the competitive program and released from our competitive team tryouts will automatically be placed on a recreational league team and a refund of the difference in registration fees will be processed.
Players who are registered in the recreational program and are selected from tryouts for a competitive team will automatically be placed on the competitive team and the difference in the registration fee will be payable online through the player's account.
Players who are not registered in a West Ottawa Basketball program (i.e. registered for Tryouts Only) and are released from our competitive team tryouts are required to contact our Club Administrator to register for a recreational team if registration is closed. While we cannot guarantee placement on a team once registration is closed, we will certainly do our best to ensure all players who want to play basketball are placed on a team.
